And their knowledge was only furthered by science not religion. In
fact religion was holding back Galileo finding out the truth and they
tried to stop him from telling the truth because of their own beliefs
concerning religion.

Religious knowledge is static. It is scientific knowledge that
evolves.

Religion is a belief. It only deals with what some of us think is
going to happen. There is no proof and the sooner we stick to the
facts and speculation the better for our species.
